More about Araneus diadematus

Spider from the Araneidae family that is recognizable by a cross-shaped ball on the opisthosome. His body is large and females are larger than males.
Females are in charge of spinning the net, which is well studied in this species. The cobweb woven by females is symmetrical and circular. It requires about 20 m of fiber, 1000 points of support, and weighs only about 0.5 mg. A cobweb woven in this way can withstand the 4,000 times heavier victim that has become entangled in it, so it can only be released if it is very strong.
