The Mundari, like other nilotic tribes, are very cattle-oriented. The animals serve as food, as a form of currency and as a mark of status with marriages arranged by the prospective groom with offerings of cattle to the bride's family. The Mundari people also engage in perennial cattle raiding wars with the Bor Dinka people during the dry season.
