More about They are already going

... a few days later, from another cave, a few kilometers from the bunker, the monster surfaced. And she wasn't alone. Many began to emerge from the depths of the cave. First, they slaughtered nearby crews. Then nearby villages. None of the villagers survived. It was night, all or most were killed in their sleep. But instead of going more inland, their attention shifted to the noisy front. There unsuspecting French, German and other (Russian, Austro-Hungarian) soldiers, were just busy in a big battle. The Germans attempted another attack. It failed so the commander ordered a retreat. Back in their trench they were gathering strength for another attack. Suddenly, however, the Germans noticed that the French lines were covered by fog and the ensuing human and inhuman screams. The firing from the French ceased and the surrendering, helpless and terrified soldiers began to run from no man's land. The German commander ceased fire and let them run into their laws. But they wouldn't stop, they continued on. The Germans had to restrain them until they were tied up. They were all shaking, crying, fainting. The Germans thought they were hit by shell shock. But it didn't look like that. These guys were more than scared- incredibly scared. One of them was talking nervously over and over. The German commander ordered, "Translate what he's saying. Does anyone here speak French?" "I, sir," said one. "Translate what he says," said the commander, "yes, sir," said the private, kneeling down beside the terrified Frenchman. After a moment the commander asks "so what". But the private just knelt down with a shudder to the frightened soldier. "SO WHAT" shouted the commander. The private in a shrill voice replies "Sss-sir. He says monsters are coming out of the fog, they are massacring everyone, you can't kill them, my...". "Continue" said the commander. The soldier with tears in his eyes continues "... my brother, my little brother one of them got him, she was tearing pieces of flesh off him. I can't help him. He's screaming, calling my name. Please kill me" he finished. They're all horrified. What horrors are on the other side they thought. Is this the new weapon of this damn war? "Major" said the soldier on guard. "What do you see Private, what do you see" asks the commander. The soldier replies "the fog, the fog is coming, it's thick, there's something in it".
