Prompt

Loud was the gush of woe, from those who watched around. The wing commander her head turned around, beautiful long flowing hair obscuring the explosion of the battle cruiser. Her ashen face understanding, dreams of victory not today. From her ruby coloured mouth, come maidens of the sky turn your silver biplanes, I can not bear more loss today. But she screamed check those coward sobs, but follow my crimson robes, for tomorrow a noble victory you shall sing.

More about War's Anguish

A dramatic, digital painting shows a close-up of a distraught, crying woman in a red tunic, with dirty face and tears streaming down her cheeks. Her dark hair is windswept. Her eyes are light blue-gray, with dark circles under them, and her brow is furrowed. She has plump, dark red lips. In the background a large warship is ablaze with huge fiery explosions, billowing smoke, and smaller explosions along its deck. Swarms of small, biplane-like fighter planes with propellers in the front and the German Iron Cross on the tail are flying through the smoke and fire. One plane is seen in detail in the lower left, flying close to the woman, with its landing gear down and a propeller in the front. There are smaller fires and splashes in the water below the planes. The sky is dark and cloudy.
