This was my first popular dream, racking up an unexpected 40 likes. That was eight times more than anything else I was making! Sadly, the popularity contest nature of any system in which you can identify "friends" and have your work displayed to them in an exclusive thread will skew the true popularity of any piece.

What does 40 likes mean when only a handful of people have friended you? How many were obligatory clicks expecting reciprocation? If an author with 600 friends gets 200 likes on a piece, is it more universally appreciated than a piece with only 50 likes dreamed up by an author who's only been followed by 50 friends?

We'll never really know, and -- while a popularity contest system exists -- it truly is pointless to ponder. I appreciate the 40 likes this piece got while I was still fiddling with the controls. And I appreciate the likes the remaster has gotten. But most importantly, I'm proud of both products.
