The sound lures them forward, step by step, until the ground beneath them begins to shift. It is not always a trap. Some stories tell of the Mire Daughter revealing hidden truths to those who listen without fear. But more often, she seeks balance—pulling the living into the depths to replace what was taken. Her form is never stable, always shifting between woman and landscape, reminding all who see her that nature itself can remember, and sometimes, it refuses to forgive.
