Since I already had a bunch of cosmic balls lying around from the last image, I figured I'd but them to good use and incorporate them into this image, which merges the concepts of cosmic strings and quantum strings (two things that, in real science, are SUPER different) to create a tangle of strangely symmetrical confusion. I REALLY love how this one turned out. Fun fact: the cosmic strings at the centre of the image started out life as a multipart 3D model. Having chosen the angle I wanted and turned them into a 2D snapshot, I then mirrored the basic image to create something that looked symmetrical in two dimensions. I then recoloured multiple versions of this flat image and mixed the different hued versions together to create a polycrhomatic version of the basic cosmic string tangle-shape, which I was then able to superimpose on a space background, alongwith the cosmic spheres I created for the previous image, rearranged for a new look.
