सुनहु कथा रघुपति मनिहारी ॥
एक दिवस सभामध्य सुहाई ।
बैठे राम सिया रघुराई ॥
देखि कपि तन अति बलवाना ।
भक्तिरस सिंधु, ज्ञान निधाना ॥
सभासद बोले हँसि मुसुकाई ।
“कहँ बसत रघुनाथ गोसाई?
जपहु नाम दिन रात तुम्हारा ।
कहाँ निवास करैं रखवारा?” ॥
सुनि कपिराज विनय सिर नावा ।
नेत्रन प्रेम सुधा बरसावा ॥
कंपित तन पुलकित अति गाता ।
राम बिना नहिं और सहाता ॥
बोले मारुतसुत कर जोरी ।
“प्रभु बसत हिय भीतर मोरी ।
जिमि जल भीतर चंद्र प्रकाशा ।
तिमि रघुबीर बसैं उर बासा।” ॥
तबहुँ सभा न मानी बानी ।
चाहत देखि प्रेम की निशानी ॥
हँसे कपि करुणा के सागर ।
भक्त हृदय के परम उजागर ॥
नख कर कीन्ह वक्ष विदारा ।
नहिं तन पीरा, नहिं विकारा ॥
ज्यों कमल दल उघरे प्रभाता ।
त्यौं उर खुला प्रेम प्रभु भ्राता ॥
मध्य हृदय सिंहासन सोहा ।
तेहि पर राम सिया मन मोहा ॥
एक ओर धनुष, एक ओर करुणा ।
ज्योति पुंज हरि, शांति तरुणा ॥
लखन सहित छवि अति मनोहर ।
जगमग करत अनंत सुधाकर ॥
रोम रोम लिखि “राम” पुकारा ।
अस्थि-अस्थि रघुनाथ हमारा ॥
देखि सभा विस्मित रहि जाई ।
प्रेम भक्ति महिमा न समाई ॥
राम स्वयं उठि कपि उर लागे ।
अश्रु प्रेम अमृत रस भागे ॥
बोले रघुवर वचन सुखकारी ।
“तुम मम भक्त शिरोमणि भारी ।
जाके हृदय बसौं मैं आवा ।
ताहि काल नहिं कछु दुख पावा।” ॥
सिया कही मृदु बचन पियारे ।
“कपि, तुम प्राणन तेहुँ हमारे ।
धन्य भक्ति यह निष्कपट तोरी ।
तुम बिन कौन कहै गति मोरी?” ॥
तुलसी कहै सुनहु नर नारी ।
भक्ति न चाहै तर्क विचारी ॥
जाके हृदय प्रेम अधिकाई ।
ताहि मिलहिं रघुबीर सहाई ॥
नहिं वन, गिरि, मंदिर, काया ।
प्रेम जहाँ, प्रभु तहाँ समाया ॥
फाड़ि न छाती देखन जाई ।
राम बसैं जहाँ भक्ति समाई ॥
