i'm not sure what happened here but it isn't quite what I had expected. I don't know what to make of it. Maybe you do. The only reference to rain in a library is, perhaps the old Tarkovsky version of Solaris in which there is an episode or two of rain inside a house. I read somewhere that Russians have a different attitude toward rain and that they don't think of it so much as something to escape but just as what is happening at that moment. I have no idea if this is true but I am dubious. I met a lady in Australia that had grown up in England before, as they say, coming out to Australia and she didn't find it all that different until she was caught out in the rain and it was warm. She thought she could just as well be on mars because the rain was warm. In England, apparently, the rain is always cold. Imagine what it must be like in Russia and then, just in your imagination, bring it into the house.
