I rounded up Jimmy Durante, NRBQ, Jerry Lee Lewis, Mudboy & The Neutrons, Eddie Hinton, Moon Mullican, North Mississippi Allstars, Charlie Rich, Reigning Sound, and Sam the Sham & The Pharaohs, for this new edition of my WYXR-FM show called Air-Conditioned. While I was in the groove, I tossed in The Hodges Brothers, Asie Payton, Todd Snider, Keith Sykes, Inez Andrews, The Replacements and more goodies.

My inspiration for this episode was my friend Paul Williams, a wonderful sweet-spirited Midtown Memphian who passed away in March. Paul had a show I loved on WEVL-FM called Bebe's Berserkathon. He also had a cool record shop called Audiomania. His love for music was deep and wide, but if it had some humor or sense of play, he could be all in. We had spirited conversations about everything from Memphis music to Jimmy Durante, slapstick comedy and NRBQ … one of his very favorite bands.
