Empress Wu Zetian lived 17 February 624 – 16 December 705. She was first a concubine to the old emperor, father of the man that made her his empress consort. She ruled with him and then by herself when he got unwell and then died, she seized the throne of the dynasty. No other empress of China has held as much power absolutely and solely.
