ArtistA masterpiece of oil painting. Late 19th century Russian style. A Russian coffee house, 1880s. Three young men are sitting at a table holding an earnest discussion. They are Dimitri, aged 28, clean shaven, longish hair, dissolute looking. Ivan aged 23, neat beard, serious and intellectual but haunted. Alexei, aged 20, clean shaven, young and idealistic.
One in an occasional series of dreams based upon my reading. (I'm an avid bookworm). My thanks are due to Unicorngraphics for their "Literary Masterpieces" series, which was my inspiration.
A highly detailed, painterly oil painting depicts three men, dressed in 19th-century attire, seated at a wooden table in a dimly lit, richly decorated cafe or salon. The man on the left has disheveled brown hair, a hint of stubble, and wears a dark, long overcoat over an unbuttoned white shirt. He is holding a lit cigarette between his fingers and gesturing with his right hand as he gazes towards the bearded man in the center. The central figure, with dark hair, a neatly trimmed beard, and spectacles, is dressed in a dark suit with a vest and tie. He is actively writing in an open notebook with a pen, looking intently at the man on his left. The third man on the right is younger, with neatly combed blondish-brown hair, wearing a brown suit jacket over a light collared shirt. He holds a glass of tea or an amber-colored drink in his right hand and looks towards the central figure with a serious expression.
On the table in front of them are various items, including a folded newspaper with Cyrillic script, an inkwell with a pen, a small white teapot, and cups of tea, some in glass holders. Bread
