Artist16:9 full width naïve art sunset in summer. The big, yellow setting sun is flanked left and right by two magnificent, leafy, green apple trees hung with red apples. The motif is rendered in tiny, crushed, delicate, colored tissue paper elements glued to a sturdy base material. The artist has taken kindergarten art to a new level of detail and precision in terms of its execution whereas the motif is simple and inspired by a kindergarten teacher’s toolbox. The horizon line is low, and separates a lush, green meadow rendered in tiny, sculptural, scrunched tissue paper elements made of tissue paper with spotted, swirled patterns, giving the green meadow the semblance of bright, colored flowers between green grass. The sky is made of tissue paper in various swirly shade of blue, with yellow naïve art sunrays stretching from the sun through the entire sky to the edges of the image. The floral landscape image is joyful, feel-good, serene, calm, and peaceful. The viewer has a sense of all being well with the world. Despite the use of a typical kindergarten craft technique to make the image and the almost simplistic ambiance and outlook on the world, the unique image is created with meticulous, innovative craftsmanship and is museum-worthy. Emulation of the creative skill of contemporary tissue paper artists like Maya Freelon Asante, Particia Chemin, and Marianne Eriksen Scott-Hansen
A sunset as a feelgood kindergarten art-type image.
