Jalal al-Din Muhammad Rumi (also called by the honorific Mawlana/Molana, meaning “Our Master”) is a 13th-century Persian poet (he also wrote in Turkish, Arabic, and Greek), Islamic scholar, and a great Sufi mystic.
Rumi’s powerful poetry and teachings were concerned with universal themes of love, peace, self-empowerment, and spirituality. The magical words of the great Sufi teacher transcended time, language, cultural backgrounds, and national borders and touched the hearts of people all around the world.
