I was asked to do a drawing for a coloring book about local urban legends. I was one of, I think, 13 other artists from all over the US to participate.

My local urban legend was the Witch of Pungo...Grace Sherwood. Her story is crazy! And she was a real human! Grace was very progressive for her time & she was pretty, so of course she was a witch! (/s)

When her "ducking" (not "dunking") was ordered, they tied a huge bible around her neck (while she was completely naked) so she would drown! Poor lady! She survived, however- which made everyone even more certain she was a witch.
