More about Ladybug (Ladybeetle/Ladybird) Larvae

Last month our back garden became filled with these weird little creatures. They're so cool! I did some research to find out what they are...and whether or not they'll try to eat my face one day (better safe than sorry)

Turns out these are pre-ladybugs! That's what we call them in the US, but other places call them lady beetles or lady birds. They eat aphids just like the adults & they don't bite. They can pinch with their legs, but I haven't had one do that & I let them crawl on my arm.

This month, all those larvae turned into adults & most of them flew away. Bye ladybugs!

I'll go find out who introduced the style & edit this to reflect that. The photo is public domain.
