So, I might have mentioned that I've got a book coming out in the new year. What I haven't mentioned is that it's intended to be part of a series. This is an image from one of the as-yet-unpublished follow-up volumes. In order to find out what in the name of Zardoz is going on here... you'll have to wait and see, like everybody else.

In the meantime, here's this piece was created. As usual, it's a digital collage but, as with more recent efforts, it also harnesses the power of the Text-to-Image generator. The background image is an alien world I generated without a reference image in the Text-to-Image thing. The two starships (foreground and background) were created seperately. The background ship used a traditional NASA rocket as the base image, which was then fed through the text-to-image generator with the prompt 'Baroque gold starship with lots of decoration'. The foreground ship used a similar prompt but took an image of a retrofuturist flying muscle car as its starting point to create a spaceship that looked a bit more... 1980s. After assembling the image components, I then filtered them through a style image that was just the original background image, thereby allowing the ships to be integrated more perfectly into the painting. Sorry for the rambling explantion- I just want you all to know WHY THESE TAKE SO BLOODY LONG TO MAKE!
