This orangified style transfer follows the same suit as the Escape from Orange County image that I painted, same size 9x12, same medium, acrylic. This is a little bit further in my escape from Orange County and pretty much the same path that I followed when I did do that a few years later I ended up living on Belmont short peninsula in Long Beach which is an approximation of where this image sits, The lifeguard towers are definitely evocative of the ones are interspersed on those beaches and the lights off in the distance are of the Port of Los Angeles. It was very dark and noirish place, in a very dark and noirish time. The fact that I painted these images a few years before it actually happened is a little bit bothersome not that I could tell the future or anything silly like that but just be cautious about the kind of future you project in your mind. I still have an inspiration to paint this weird nether world that sits on the border between orange and Los Angeles County which is full of brackish marsh land industrial waste, oil pumps and tanks, palm trees growing wild, remnants of the aerospace industry...
