This is is of my mom, Maria, at the age of 16 before schizophrenia took hold. I wanted to capture the isolation a person who gets schizophrenia feels towards others as they become more and more mysterious and live in and sometimes become trapped in their own minds. She certainly is brilliant woman and that is exactly what schizophrenia targets most - the most brilliant, beautiful minds. This really shows a sense of that isolation.
