I took the photo I used as my base in a small town in the sertão (semi-arid region) of northeastern Brazil c.1969, and later added a painterly ambiance.
I taught at the high school and lived in this town for several years without running water, a sewage system, nor full-time electricity. (When I visited in 2011, it had all modern conveniences.)

My style image is a hand-made, mixed-media abstract rendered mostly in colored pencils and acrylic paint on watercolor paper.

Unless otherwise noted, all of the images I have made public are created from my own photography and/or digital or hand-made art.
